What’s a Now page? It’s inspired by Derek Sivers about what’s happening in my life.
May 2024:
Drinking: I stopped drinking two years ago but am now addicted to caffeine. I also love kombucha, especially local craft-brewed.
Listening: Spotify all day (I love the new Daylist playlist—tonight, it’s Progressive House Vocal Evening) and PocketCasts for podcasts. My favorites right now are Atlanta-based “Talking to Death” with Payne Lindsey from “Up and Vanished,” “Juicy Scoop with Heather McDonald,” and “This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von” for laughs. I also subscribe to a few Patreons and a myriad of business podcasts. Lewis Howes and Tim Ferriss always inspire.
Fitness: I mostly use my Peloton at home. My favorite instructors are Cody Rigsby, Bradley Rose, Ben Alldis, and fellow UMer Andy Speer for weight training. I also do yoga, jump rope, and like to walk in the park.
Purchase: Related to fitness, I purchased a UREVO walking pad to go under my standing desk. Chalene Johnson inspired this idea. Also, an Ultimate Ears MegaBoom 3 for the beach this summer, and some Paris Hilton “That’s Hot” oven mitts. I really want this reissued Bang & Olufsen Beosystem 9000c speaker system because I miss CDs (and the 90s). But you know… it’s $55,000! (Bucket list).
Reading: See my Goodreads profile – I mostly enjoy memoir, nonfiction, self-help, and, lately, horror. My favorite book this year is “The Shards” by Bret Easton Ellis. I also enjoy long-form journalism. As a University of Miami alumnus, this New York Magazine piece on “The Package King of Miami” by Ezra Marcus did not surprise me at all.
Tools: ListenLater.net for sending articles and PDFs to your favorite podcast player (Spotify, PocketCasts, etc.).
Travel: I’, heading to South Carolina for a Memorial Day beach vacation with my family. My niece and four nephews under ten keep me entertained (and young!).
Watching: “Palm Royale,” “Loot,” and of course — “Baby Reindeer.”
Working: My business, Contact Any Celebrity, keeps going and going. I created it in 1997 (really before that), and thankfully, it doesn’t stop. If you’re curious, check out this Starter Story about how it began.
